Ten things, chosen by a person.

Not surfaced. Not served. Not optimized for you. Chosen, by someone who will put their name under the choice and hears about it when the choice is bad.

This week's chooser: the Organization's librarian, who is a person, has a name, and answers the mail. The role rotates. The accountability does not.

Ten, because a person can stand behind ten. A million, ranked by machine, is how responsibility evaporates: nobody chose it, so nobody answers for it. The feed knows what you will click. The chooser knows what you might keep.

Nothing here paid for placement. Nothing is personalized. You and everyone else got the same ten, which means you can argue about them with somebody. That is a feature the feed cannot ship.
